There are different ideas of what the future of food will look like, but everyone agrees on what it should provide: a food system that can feed everyone, everywhere, every day.

With the world’s population expected to reach almost 10 billion by 2050 there will have to be changes in the way food is produced and distributed to cater not only to the growing population but to combat the negative effects the food industry has on the environment.

From 3D food printing, to real meat made without the slaughtering of animals, to robots tending to crops. Many of these solutions sound like they could have been taken from the pages of a sci-fi novel, but it may be the reality of our future. Could these technologies help us increase production to meet a rapidly growing demand without further exhausting our existing resources and planet?
